A type of machinery in the material handling industry that can be utilized to raise and transport loads from one place to another is called a forklift. Each forklift part has a specific function. Various parts can be utilized to transport the load either vertically or horizontally.
The parts used to lower and lift the load is known as the forklift mast. There are various kinds of masts for lifting loads to different heights: triplex, quad, simplex and duplex.
There are four various ways you can power a forklift: electric, gas, diesel and propane. The battery is situated inside the cab underneath the seat. The propane tank is situated on the back of the truck. The fuel tank on gas and diesel forklifts is underneath the rear of the truck.
Positioned within the center of the truck is the forklift cab. This is where the operator sits and accesses all the informational gauges and controls. The gas pedal, steering wheel, tilting controls, brake and lifting controls are all situated within the cab.
The frame of the truck carries all the biggest parts of the forklift, like the counterweights, that are situated at the back to stop the truck from tipping when loaded. The frame includes the overhead guard that protects the operator. The undercarriage holds the driveshaft, axles and wheels.
