Jungheinrich LP Forklift

Forklift trucks are essential pieces of machinery utilized widely in business, especially within warehouses, distribution centers, storage handling and industrial facilities. A forklift truck is constructed of hundreds of components, including the cab, the carriage, the power source, the wheels and the engine. Lift trucks normally have different kinds of attachments too. The following are some of the most essential components of a lift truck.

Forklift Engine - At the back of the equipment, the forklift has its power source. The different types of engine on the lift truck will require varying power sources. Like for instance, a lift truck with an internal combustion engine can have as its power source any of the following: LP gas, CNG gas, gasoline or diesel. Electric motor forklifts receive their power from fuel cells or a battery.

Frame of The Truck - The frame of the truck is the base of the forklift and the most essential of all the lift truck components. This forms the core of the equipment. All other components of a forklift are connected to the base, like the overhead guard, counterweight, wheels, axles and mast. Hydraulic fluid and fuel tanks may also be part of the frame assembly.

Counterweight Lift Truck Components - While carrying heavy loads, the counterweight enables the equipment to be balanced. This particular part is cast iron and comes connected to the back of the forklift. The counterbalance balances the truck frame in order to prevent it from tipping over when a load is being carried or lifted on the front. In an electric lift truck, the heavy lead-acid battery gives balance and can work as part of the counterweight.

The Cab Area - The cab is also known as the operator compartment. Lift trucks would sometimes have closed cabs whilst others will be open to the air. There are a lot of parts located within the cab for operating the forks. The cab has such essential parts like the levers, switches, steering wheel, operator controls, pedals and seats. The dashboard contains operator readouts.
